Jim Hassett founded LegalBizDev to help lawyers develop new business more quickly by applying best practices from other law firms and from other professions. Before he started working with lawyers, Jim had 20 years of experience as a sales trainer and consultant to companies from American Express to Zurich Financial Services. Jim has published seven books (including Legal Business Development: A Step by Step Guide and The LegalBizDev Desk Reference™) and more than seventy articles in publications ranging from the New York Times Magazine to Legal Management and Strategies: The Journal of Legal Marketing. He is a frequent speaker at law firms and at conferences, including recent presentations at the New York, New England, and Southeastern chapters of the Legal Marketing Association. Jim has a Ph.D. from Harvard University, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychology at Boston University. His blog Legal Business Development was selected by TechnoLawyer as one of "the most influential legal blogs" and featured in BlawgWorld.

Tom Kane, J.D., LL.M, a former practicing attorney, is the principal of Kane Consulting, Inc. and co-founder of the LegalBizDev Network. Tom has served for more than  twenty-two years as an in-house marketer for a number of law firms and as a consultant to the legal industry. His most recent in-house position was as chief marketing officer for a 450-lawyer firm based in Philadelphia with 12 offices. Tom has been involved in all aspects of legal marketing, from training, coaching, planning, and public relations to conducting image campaigns, market research, advertising, and client feedback programs. Tom has also written and spoken on law firm marketing topics for more than two decades, and writes www.LegalMarketingBlog.com, which was included in Blawgworld's short list of the most influential legal blogs. His book Letters For Lawyers: Essential Communications for Clients, Prospects, and Others, Second Edition is published by the American Bar Association.

Catherine Tabor, J.D., has trained firm management and senior partners at AmLaw 100 law firms in the United States, England and France. As a senior instructor at the WJF Institute for 11 years, she trained and coached more than 3,400 attorneys on business development. Cathy also has more than 20 years of legal experience and currently practices Entertainment Law in Austin, Texas. She is an expert at stealth business development, and acquired her first client one week before receiving results of the Texas Bar exam. In her spare time, Cathy is a published author, a political consulting professional for both local and state-wide races, and a member of the Recording Academy Board of Governors for the Texas Chapter.

Matthew Robinson has over 15 years of experience changing behaviors and driving improved results for Fortune 500 companies. Matt was formerly the director of sales training and management development at TD Ameritrade, where he oversaw all aspects of sales training for the retail distribution network of this $154 billion brokerage firm. He previously served as sales director at Charles Schwab's Learning Group, where he personally coached and mentored over 100 senior executives on business development, and as group vice president at TD Ameritrade, managing a staff of 80 sales and operational employees. Matt is a certified executive coach (by Hay/ McBer Worldwide) and a certified learning systems facilitator (by DDI - Development Dimensions International).
